This October, get outside, breathe in the crisp air, and have a little fun with your person.
Whether you’re in a season of reconnection or just need a break from the heaviness, this lighthearted date will help bring you back to each other, through pumpkins, cider, and a little adventure.
1. Head to a Local Pumpkin Patch or Fall Festival
Look for one with:
A corn maze
Hayrides
Pumpkin picking
Cozy snacks like cider, kettle corn, or caramel apples
Start with a playful challenge:
Who can find the strangest-shaped pumpkin?
Race through the corn maze (loser buys cider!)
Take a selfie in front of the biggest pumpkin or on the hayride
2. Pick Your Pumpkins to Carve Later
After the festival, bring your pumpkins home for a fun carving night together. This keeps the connection going even after the date ends—and lets you get a little creative (or competitive).
3. Close with a Reset Conversation
Sit under a blanket, sip something warm, and ask each other:
“What’s something fun we haven’t done together in a while?”
“Is there anything we need to reset before the holidays?”
“What’s one way we can support each other better this season?”
What You’ll Need:
For the Outing:
Fall clothes/layers
A budget for pumpkin patch admission & snacks
Comfortable shoes (corn mazes = dust + dirt!)
A shared playlist for the drive
For Pumpkin Carving at Home:
2 small/medium pumpkins
Carving tools or kitchen knives
A trash bag for scooping seeds
Tealights or battery candles for lighting your creations
Optional: pumpkin carving stencils, paint pens, or stickers
Why It Works:
It’s playful, simple, and full of seasonal charm. It invites both laughter and intentional connection, with just enough structure to keep it special—but not stressful.
